Big Day for Hannah

Although she tried at Grandma Dianne's the other night...Hannah used her little toddler toilet for the first time tonight. I was getting the bath ready and she was taking her diaper off and I asked her if she wanted to go, not really expecting a response and she got all excited and started yelling "Potty" and jumping up and down. So I got out the little toilet, she sat on it and went. I was very surprised. Sam had to jump out of the tub to come see. I did not potty train Sam until he was 3 so I was not planning to train her this early, but if she wants to go, I'm not going to stop her. Poor girl's got a fat lip and skinned up nose too. She fell running down a friends driveway tonight. And then a little while later Sam ran into her with his bike and knocked her to her knees, skinning those. Rough day too.

Finally coming in

Hannah's hair is getting longer and curly! I wanted to get a couple pictures, I'm not sure they're showing up real well. She's crabby in the first picture because I won't hold her...big surprise. In the second picture I had to sing the Dora theme song to make her happy. She loves Dora. Works every time.

New Puppy

Haven't updated in awhile so I put a couple posts on here. The most recent...the kids got a new puppy! Came as a big surprise to me. He's a Brittany Spaniel. Sam insisted his name be Gordon. All I could think of was the train and Putter's imaginary friend (when he was little). I told Dan we should convince Sam to name him something else. He said, too late, they already got hime a name tag. So Gordon it is. We had John's fiancee Jaynee's shower here today and they got him while they were out. We had been talking about getting a dog since Buddy was "dog-napped". He seems like a good puppy. Sam wants him to sleep in his room. He says than he won't be afraid anymore. I'm not sure if Sam or Hannah is more excited to have him.

Up North

We went to my parents cabin last weekend. I took some pictures of the boat ride. We had really nice weather and the kids had a blast as usual. And Sam caught his first fish!

Busy, Busy, Busy

We've been gone a lot the last week and a half and have just tried to get caught up on some of your blogs. I think some of them would take me too long, sorry! We've been at Bluefin, the cabin, Dan's race this weekend and down to St. Paul (big trip for us country folk) to see my cute new cousin Adam! He's so adorable and on the way home I realized I forgot to get his picture. I feel like he should be my nephew instead of my cousin! And then I was going to take pictures of Dan's race and my battery died. So sorry, no pictures. But the kids had a blast, Hannah and I are sunburned today. It was so cold and also cloudy at times, I had no idea she would need sunscreen. I feel like a horrible mom. She's just a little pink, I'm the one who looks like a tomato today! So I'm glad it was me and not her. Sam of course loved it. He loves watching any racer, not just Dad. I think he could sit in those stands all day. He got a chance to practice riding his bike too, which he's getting really good at (with training wheels). David, Dianne and Naomi were there too and very helpful with the kids...Thank You! I told Dan on the way home if I didn't have their help, it could have been a miserable day. Hannah's hard to contain. And Dan wouldn't go around telling people this, but I get to...He got first place! He got to go to the winners circle and we all got a picture with him, the car and his trophy. Of course my camera died. But we can order pictures from their guy. Then we all went to my favorite 371 Diner for dinner. Dan thought it was to celebrate his win, I thought it was for Mother's day...either way it was a fun weekend. Hope you all had a good one too!

Cubbies is over

I don't have any new photos to update, but I figured it's been awhile and cubbies is long over. Dan and I went to Bluefin Bay this weekend and had a good time. The kids went between my parents and Dan's and I'm sure had just as fun. I came home to find out Sam got himself a new brother. He's been asking me for the past couple of weeks why he can't have a brother, I told him I could get him a dog, but that wouldn't do. So he made up his own and his name is James. Hannah is trying to be as independent as ever. She wants to do everything herself, doesn't want her hand held, wants to walk around the store herself and is very determined to get her way. Sad thing is she hasn't hit the terrible twos yet! Hopefully they just came early. I'll try to get some photos soon. Hope everyone's having a good day and enjoying this beautiful weather!
